The function of the water pump is to cool the engine by facilitating the flow of coolant from the radiator to the cylinder`s water jacket.

The oil pump is responsible for pressurizing engine oil from the oil pan, and then pumping it throughout the engine.  Due to the pressurization from the oil pump, oil that has been purified through filters then properly flow into various parts of the internal combustion engine.

 

The thermostat is a part of the temperature control system in the engine body. When the engine is cold, the thermostat is closed and the coolant is recalculated within the engine until the temperature is increased.

The damper pulley, connected to the crankshaft, is essential to providing driving power to the water pump, alternator, and compressor. It also dampens vibrations in and prevents a distortion of the crankshaft.
